Arkady Lichinsky
Assistant Coach
Email
From his 38 year
involvement with swimming, Arkady Lichinsky brings a wealth of
experience to Central Iowa Aquatics. As a swimmer in
Kishinev, Moldova (former USSR), he was the senior 100 fly champion
for four straight years (1976-1979). After immigrating to the
US, he coached the WDM Metro Torpedoes to four consecutive
second-place conference finishes. From his first year
coaching at CIA, he counts the Age Group State Long Course
Championship as a special memory. Arkady's dedication to
coaching is matched only by his devotion to his two sons, both of
whom have swum with CIA (one is swimming currently). Arkady's
history as a coach, immigrant, and father gives him a unique
perspective on the value of swimming: discipline, setting goals,
and the great feeling when these goals are
achieved. Arkady enjoys "taking part in a young
